Junior Engineers Program

After experiencing stable growth from 8 to 48 employees in 2018, it´s now time to launch our 6-month dedicated Junior Program for eager software developers that are looking to learn from experienced engineers while contributing to the development of our revolutionary product. The Junior Engineers Program aims to give you a good overview of different parts of software development and will help to decide on a track for your future career as a Back-end, Front-end, Full-Stack, Site Reliability or QA Engineer at Humanitec. Up to 4 developers from any of the mentioned disciplines will get to join the program.

Overview of the main tasks

  • Learn to adopt best practices in the standard software development process, engineering techniques, deployment, and platform maintenance.

  • Support engineering teams deliver high quality, unique and standardized code on time that is thoroughly vetted and reviewed.

  • Participate in peer code reviews, pull processes and data modeling exercises.

  • Contribute to and develop reusable application modules that work with the platform core and microservices.

  • Research and evaluate new technologies and their applicability within our stack by conducting research and presenting the results.

  • Share knowledge by participating in community events and workshops.

Requirements for application

  • You are a graduate of a Software Engineering, Software Development, Computer Science or related university program.  

  • You are highly interested in Humanitec’s mission

  • You have the basic familiarity with one or more tools of our tech-stack (we work with Python, Django, Javascript (Angular, React), Kubernetes, Helm and Bash for SRE and RobotFramework and Selenium for QA).

  • You are looking for an experience that could result in a full-time job after the program ends with a competitive salary and a clear career plan in place.

  • It is great if you have already some working experience in the field.

  • We accept international applications if you are planning to relocate to Berlin.

Selection process

Applications will be reviewed continuously. Application deadline is February 12, 2019.

In the selection process, successful applicants will be invited for the first interview with the HR team to learn more about the Program set-up. Selected candidates will proceed to an engineering interview.

The participants of the program will be selected at the beginning of March 2019.
