Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced QA / Test Engineer to join our Nairobi team. You will work together with our Front-end and Back-end engineers to design, test and build logic-modules and applications running on our platform. One of your main areas of work will be to support TolaData customers and product team, contributing to the globally used project management tool that enables not-for-profit organizations to focus on creating impact.

Are you a fit?

  • You have expert level (5+ years) working experience with Front-end software/web testing tools.
  • You have advanced knowledge in Javascript, CSS, HTML5 and browser DOM.
  • You have expert level experience with scripting and automation, and you are  experienced with testing tools like Selenium, Robot Framework, Protractor, cucumber.js, chai.js and Postman.
  • You have experience with Test Management tools like Zephyr, TestRail, TestQuality, etc.
  • You have expert level experience with issue tracking and communication tools like GitHub Issues, Zenhub, Jira, Slack and Trello.
  • You have a good understanding of microservice architectures and how to interact with Back-end data REST API’s.
  • You have a good understanding of Agile, Lean and User Centric design development process and ability to self manage pace and time within the scope of a project.
  • You have advanced knowledge in behavior-driven development (BDD) and the Gherkin language.
  • You have exemplary organizational, communication and presentation skills.
  • You have excellent writing skills – ability to write in a variety of styles for multiple audiences.

In this role you will:

  • Work with the support and client teams to document and confirm issues from end users as well as enhancement requests
  • Create and manage a comprehensive set of test plans for the Front-end development work and ensure final acceptance testing is done and meets any end user/client expectations
  • Work in an agile service-oriented team and help integrate good design principles into our iterative development approach
  • Communicate clearly and often with developers on technical requirements
  • Continuously learn about standard client and Back-end web software platforms and typical components
  • Use and expand on standard Front-end testing platforms and patterns
  • Implement UX testing best practices and integrate into a comprehensive test suite along with unit and integration testing
