Many Internal Developer Platforms are built with the best of intentions – to provide beautiful abstractions for developers, save them time, and give them more room for innovation. But, as it turns out, “build it and they will come” isn’t a viable product strategy. Lack of adoption is one of the biggest reasons developer platforms fail. How do you avoid this fate?

In this talk Aaron will discuss in detail:

  • Why you shouldn’t develop a platform without knowing who your customers are (and what motivates them).
  • How to handle typical tradeoffs, cost and security constraints.
  • Typical objections to product management getting funded, and how do you overcome those objections.

After a 30-minute talk, there will be 15 minutes for Q&A. We encourage you to submit your questions in advance.

A recording of the webinar and related materials will be shared with webinar attendees afterwards.

Audience - who should join?

Platform Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Site Reliability Engineers, System Engineers, Infrastructure Kubernetes Administrators, Technical Architects, Application Developers with an affinity with DevOps and Technical Management.
