PlatformCon 2024 is coming! From June 10th until June 14th the brightest minds in platform engineering will gather on one virtual stage to reveal valuable insights and stories about their platform journey. The call for talk proposals is now open until February 25th, so if you’re a practitioner and share your experience now’s your chance to submit your talk.
At Humanitec we’re proud once again to be official event sponsors and support the platform engineering community in ensuring this year’s PlatformCon is even bigger and better than before. Let's take a quick moment to revisit what PlatformCon is all about, what to expect, and why your presence is crucial.
Platform pioneers take to the stage
Since PlatformCon 2024 launched nearly a month ago registration numbers have gone insane . And going by the last two years there’ll be close to 35,000 signups if these numbers hold. This means PlatformCon is officially the biggest platform engineering event in the world. Hands down.Â
The conference gathers together the greatest, brightest, and most influential minds in the platform and DevOps space on one virtual stage. Featuring a week-long schedule jam-packed with must-see talks, the eagerly awaited event plays host to seasoned platform veterans and expert thought leaders who will cover a range of hot topics. Attendees get the chance to delve into many areas of platform engineering such as how to get stakeholder buy-in for your platform initiative, how to build the perfect platform, and which key metrics can be impacted by your Internal Developer Platform.Â
Bolster your knowledge and widen your network Â
PlatformCon 2024 is the perfect chance to deepen your knowledge and network to your heart's content. You’ll get plenty of opportunities to meet expert speakers and fellow participants. And so you can thoroughly explore the many different dimensions of platform engineering, each 15-minute lightning talk will be categorized into one of five tracks: Stories, Tech, Blueprints, Culture, and Impact.
One particular PlatformCon 2024 highlight worthy of note is the new Open Source Software Day. Expect to learn the latest platform engineering developments and trends along with valuable insights. Trust us, this is one day you won’t want to miss!
‍
Attendees also have the option to join live virtual kickoff events for their region and watch talks at their own pace (since all will be recorded). The Platform Engineering Slack channel will be where to catch the speakers for Q&A and the conference concludes with a live closing event on Friday.
Get involved and submit a talk
If you’re a practitioner with a platform journey to share, the platform engineering community invites you to submit your talk. Do you have a tried and tested blueprint that worked for you? Or a story to tell about your real-life enterprise use case? Maybe you have gained valuable insights showing the impact of your platform engineering initiative. Now’s your chance to take the stage and speak at the biggest and best event in platform engineering. Having secured nearly every big player in the space the event is already off to a flying start with the likes of Gregor Hohpe and Nicki Watt, Paula Kennedy, Charity Majors, our very own Director of Customer Success Mallory Haigh, and many others.Â
BUT with five days worth of sessions there’s still room for more kick-ass talks, so don’t hold back. Last year we had an absolute blast watching 100s of submissions. And without a doubt, some of the best most interesting talks came from the platform engineering Slack community.
So what are you waiting for? Submit your talk to speak at the #1 event in platform engineering!
